GPC's Pop Up Art Village

GPC's Pop Up Art Village

Friday 10th & Saturday 11th April, 9:30am - 3pm

GPC's Pop Up Art Village was a hit success in 2019 so we are bringing it back again, bigger and better in 2020 spreading it over 2 days! It will be fun, engaging, quirky, interactive and a free space within the Festival. Incorporating a variety of fun, hands on activities and workshops that are suitable for all ages from 9:30am - 3pm.

The relaxed and laid back spaces also provided the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the festival!

Friday 10th April
This year on the Friday at the GPC Pop Up Art Village we will have the team from Creative Recycling Centre organising a Community mandala. The Community art mandala will be created from natural local found materials. A mandala is a design within a circle. Mandala Art are ancient, more than 2000 years old and are found in many cultures. Mandalas symbolically represent life and its constant cycles and interconnection. Nature mandalas are a way for people to strengthen the connective bond between themselves and nature. Learn more about our local flora and be part of this exciting community ephemeral art piece that celebrates our connection to the environment and each other.

Saturday 11th April
This year on the Saturday at the GPC Pop Up Art Village we will have the team from Crow Street Creative running three amazing free workshops! The workshops will be:

Leave a special message or artwork on a rock in the park or on your travels. Participants can also grab a basket and go on a hunt around the art village and markets to see if they can find any treasures left just for them.

He<3rtfelt - Using felt and fabric visitors can create their own wearable artwork . Fun and whimsical, with barbershop inspired mustaches and beards, wild animal masks and squishy heart brooches. Facilitating Artist will help visitors to use a template and trace a simple outline onto fabric to make their wearable piece .
